We would like to invite you to participate in the 8th International Conference on Intercultural Education and the First International Conference on Transcultural Health: “The Value of Education and Health for a Transcultural and Global World,” which will take place on June 20– 22, 2018, at the University of Almeria, Almeria, Spain.

The submission and management of contributions to the Conference will be made using Moodle platform. Details for accessing to the platform can be found in: http://www2.ual.es/aulacpc/login/signup.php?lang=en


Contributions to the Conference can be in person or virtually. Both modalities will provide similar certificates and publications options.


All members of each symposia will have a 10% discount in basic registration.


Face-to-face symposia will be composed by, at least, five oral communications and it will take 90 minutes in length -10 minutes each contribution and discussion-.

Online-symposia must be submitted in video format. Each paper (oral communication) should be recorded in 10 min, what means spending 50-60 minutes in the full symposia video. For discussion, videos will be uploaded in Moodle platform to comment them.

4th International Conference on Higher Education Advances

After the great success of the previous HEAd conferences, which received submissions from 51 countries, we are pleased to announce the Fourth International Conference on Higher Education Advances (HEAd’18). This conference is an excellent forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas, experiences, opinions and research results relating to the preparation of students, teaching/learning methodologies and the organization of educational systems.

The HEAd’18 conference will be held on June 20-22, 2018 at the Faculty of Business Administration and Management of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), which has been recently ranked as the best technical university in Spain by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2017.

Topics of interest

The program committee encourages the submission of articles that communicate applied and empirical findings of interest to higher education professionals. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following topic areas:

  • Innovative materials and new tools for teaching
  • Teaching and learning experiences
  • Educational technology (e.g., virtual labs, e-learning)
  • Evaluation and assessment of student learning
  • Emerging technologies in learning (e.g., MOOC, OER, gamification)
  • Experiences outside the classroom (e.g., practicums, mobility)
  • New teaching/learning theories and models
  • Globalization in education and education reforms
  • Education economics
  • Learning for employment
  • Education accreditation, quality and assessment
  • Competency-based learning and skill assessment

Author notification: April 11, 2018
Camera ready due: April 30, 2018

All accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings with a DOI and ISBN number. They will be published in open access by UPV Press and submitted to be indexed in major international bibliographic databases. Previous editions are indexed in the Thomson-Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index – Web of Science Core Collection (former ISI Proceedings).


The Program Committee will select the winners for the Best Paper and Best Student Paper awards. To be eligible for the best student paper award, the presenting author of the paper must be a full-time student.

Submission guidelines

Authors from all over the world are invited to submit original and unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal. All papers will be peer reviewed by the program committee based on their originality, significance, methodological soundness, and clarity of exposition.

Submitted papers must be written in English and should be in PDF format. They must follow the instructions in the template file, available in Microsoft Word format at:


Paper length must be between 4 and 8 pages, incorporating all text, references, figures and tables. These guidelines are strict: papers failing to adhere to the guidelines will be rejected without consideration of their merits. Submissions imply the willingness of at least one author to register, attend the conference, and present the paper.

HEAd’18 is using the OCS platform of UPV Press to manage the submissions. This platform provides you with a submissions homepage where you can register your paper submission and make appropriate changes. The submission website is:

Education, in a global sense, is a right since we are born. Every experience has a formative effect on the constitution of the human being, in the way one thinks, feels and acts. One of the most important contributions resides in what and how we learn through the improvement of educational processes, both in formal and informal settings.

Our International Conference seeks to provide some answers and explore the processes, actions, challenges and outcomes of learning, teaching and human development. Our goal is to offer a worldwide connection between teachers, students, researchers and lecturers, from a wide range of academic fields, interested in exploring and giving their contribution in educational issues.

The International Conference on Education and New Developments 2018 invites you to showcase presentations, from the most diverse countries and cultures, to promote growth in research methods intimately related to teaching, learning and applications in Education nowadays. We wish to illustrate developments and new ways of thinking in these main fields: Teachers and Students; Projects and Trends; Teaching and Learning; Organizational Issues (see below in “Themes of Interest”).

The conference will cover many types of presentation formats, incorporating Invited Keynote Speakers, oral and thematic showcases. Conference materials will be given to all registered attendees.

A book with selected papers from the conference will be published.
