| Dear friends and lifelong learners, While wishing you a great year ahead we take the opportunity to share with you our highlights for this year. Stay tuned for updates on how you can get involved with LLLP this 2026! |
Our advocacy in 2026 We will continue to advocate for the right to education and training for all, supporting those professionals advancing education and training, to achieve a fairer and more just Europe in which each learner benefits from a personalised learning journey! ——— Last year we crowned our celebrations for our 20th anniversary with a Renewed Manifesto for Lifelong Learning. If you didn’t scroll through it yet, now it’s a good time to do that. ——— In 2026 we will be working more intensely on strengthening validation and recognition of non-formal and informal learning in Europe (and beyond), while contributing to the Commission’s main initiatives such as the European VET Strategy, the Teachers and Trainers Agenda and the Skills Portability Initiative. Stay tuned, for more news will come your way! ——— 2026 marks the year in which the negotiations for the next EU long-term budget (Multiannual Financial Framework) will pick up more steam. The Lifelong Learning Platform will work together with the wider civil society community, and the EU institutions to ensure that the Erasmus+ programme, and all funding related to making a culture of lifelong learning a reality are strengthened! ——— Join us in 2026 for the Lifelong Learning Lab! We will organise four online training sessions, once a week as of 19 February focusing on the latest developments of the Union of Skills, how civil society can influence the European Semester and the long-term EU budget negotiations. ——— LLLP will keep on supporting the European Parliament Intergroup on the Future of Education and Skills, to ensure lifelong learning stays atop of the European Parliament agenda. This includes a ground-breaking event on 4 March 2026, trying to increase the envelope in the Commission’s proposal for the next Erasmus+. |
